I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
